FAQs

What is the best apple to bake pie with?

The best type of apple you use to bake your pie will all depend on the flavour you want. Granny Smith apples are often the favourite, with a tart flavour and firm flesh that doesn’t turn to mush when you bake it. You can also use Golden Delicious, Fuji or Pink Lady.

Should I bake my apple pie the night before?

Apple Pie is always best straight out of the oven. Making it too far ahead of time can leave your crust wet and soggy after baking. If you need to make it in advance, bake it, allow it to chill and then let it sit at room temperature for an hour.

Can you over bake an apple pie?

It’s pretty hard to over bake an Apple Pie and more often than not, they’ll turn out just fine even after being left in the oven for a few extra minutes. We generally recommend baking pie Apple Pie Bake for 45 minutes, or until the edges are brown. Any more and you may risk burning the bread mixture.
