FAQ’s

What is best to put in hot chocolate?

The best things to put in hot chocolate will depend on the flavours you like. You could try marshmallows, chai spice, orange zest, hazelnut spread, smooth peanut butter, or chilli powder for an extra kick. Or, you can get extra creative (like we have) and add hot cross buns!

What is the difference between hot chocolate and hot cocoa?

The main difference between hot chocolate and hot cocoa is what they’re made from. While hot chocolate is made from melting chocolate into milk or cream, hot cocoa has a powder base of straight cocoa. This means that to get any added sweetness (cocoa on its own is bitter), you need to add in some sugar to taste.

How is hot chocolate made from scratch?

To make hot chocolate from scratch, add your chosen milk, chocolate, and whatever spices or flavourings you’d like in a pan or slow cooker. Heat the mixture up slowly until it’s hot, but not boiling. Pour into your favourite mug, top with cream if you’d like it to be thicker, and sit back to enjoy a delicious, warming hot chocolate.
