FAQs

For the crispiest French toast, use slightly stale bread and pan fry in butter on a low to medium heat. This will create the perfectly crisp, golden French toast ready to be devoured! It’s one of the best ways to use up your leftover bread.

Mascarpone doesn’t melt when it’s heated, but it does become more spreadable. This means you won’t be left with a pool of liquid cream if adding as a finishing touch to hot dishes. Think French toast with mascarpone, as a toast topping with mixed berries, or in your favourite creamy pasta.

Mascarpone is richer than regular cream cheese, as it’s made from full-fat cream, as opposed to milk and cream. It also has less of a tang than cream cheese, which makes it ideal in dishes like tiramisu (or tiramisu French toast!). Mascarpone also has a smoother, more velvety texture, making it perfect for creating luxurious, creamy fillings and sauces.
