Pulled Beef Brisket Rolls Recipe

Introduction

There’s nothing better than tender beef cooked to perfection that just melts in your mouth. That’s why we’ve created the ultimate pulled beef rolls for when you need a meal that hits the spot. The tender brisket in our pulled beef roll recipe is slow-cooked in a deliciously tangy sauce on our delicious High Fibre Tiger Round Rolls. To balance it out, we’ve added our zesty slaw, so you get some delicious crisp vegetables in too. When it comes to entertaining, this is one of our favourite comfort foods to share with friends!

Method

1
Pour the broth or water into the pot of the slow-cooker. Add all of the seasoning ingredients into the pot and mix well
2
Add the meat into the sauce mixture and use a cooking spoon to spread the broth over the meat
3
Cook in the slow-cooker for approx. 6-8 hours on low. Add extra water if required and skim the excess surface fat from the sauce
4
When the meat breaks apart with a fork, transfer the brisket to a cutting board to pull it apart and shred, or in the pot (but be careful, it's hot!)
5
Place the shredded meat back into the pot. Then return and cook for another hour on low
6
If preparing a day ahead, allow the beef to cool down before storing in the fridge overnight. Then warm up on the stove before serving, ensuring to remove any excess liquid to prevent the buns getting too soggy. The mixture should be thick and shiny, not watery
7
Spoon a tablespoon of beef onto a bun with some coleslaw. Add cheese and hot sauce if desired
FAQs

Because pulled beef is quite rich, a lighter side dish like a salad or pickles goes well and balances out the flavours and textures of the meat. If you’d like something a little heartier, try it with chips, mashed potatoes, a soft bread roll, creamy coleslaw, or wedges.

You should shred your beef when it’s hot. This makes it easier for the meat to come apart. However, make sure you let it rest for a few minutes and be careful to avoid burning yourself.

The main difference between pulled pork and pulled beef is that the meat comes from different animals. Pulled pork is also different to pulled beef because when you cook pulled pork it cooks at a lower temperature. Although the process is similar, the two also have different flavours.
