FAQs

A classic Caesar salad includes romaine lettuce, Caesar dressing, croutons, parmesan cheese and pepper. Ingredients can change depending on the recipe, with some popular additions being bacon, chicken or eggs.

Caesar salad is a popular salad that appeals to many. There are a few reasons why this dish tastes so good. One being its mix of flavours like sweet, salty and sour. And another being its  mix of textures, like the crunchiness of the croutons and freshness of the lettuce. Delish!

It may be a surprise to know the Caesar salad isn’t named after Julius Caesar. Instead, it’s named after its creator Caesar Cardini. This Italian chef owned a restaurant in Mexico, inventing the dish in the 1920s. The story goes that Caesar needed to prepare a meal quickly, with the ingredients he had on hand. And presto! The Caesar salad was born.
