FAQs

Hot cross buns go well with both sweet and savoury toppings, so they really are a versatile snack or dessert. Try them with cheese, bacon, and eggs for a savoury treat, or amp up the sweetness with nutella, marmalade or jam, ice cream, and flavoured syrup for dessert. They’re also delicious slathered with butter. The saltiness of the butter gives them an added flavour dimension and also a touch of creaminess. As with anything though, it all comes down to personal preference so give a few toppings a go to see what you like best.

While delicious cold and fresh out of the bag, hot cross buns are next-level tasty toasted under the grill and topped with lashings of butter. It all comes down to personal preference though, so give both a try to find out which you like best.

Sticky date, or sticky toffee pudding, was most likely invented by Francis Coulson in the UK in 1960, but like many desserts its history isn’t set in stone. Whatever the story though, it’s certainly become a favourite all across Australia and around the world as a delicious warming dessert.
