FAQs

The key to keeping chicken meatballs from falling apart is a good binder. This tasty recipe uses egg and breadcrumbs to help hold everything together, but chilling the meatballs briefly before baking also helps them keep their shape. If your mixture still feels too soft, try adding a little extra breadcrumb until it holds when rolled.

Tomato passata is a classic choice for chicken meatballs, but you can try marinara, barbecue sauce, or even a creamy garlic sauce for a twist. You can also simmer the meatballs briefly in the sauce to soak up extra flavour before serving.

You can fill a sub sandwich with just about anything you love! Classic options include deli meats like ham, turkey, or salami, layers of cheese, fresh lettuce, tomato, and onion. For extra flavour, add pickles, olives, or roasted capsicum. Don’t forget spreads - mayonnaise, mustard, pesto, or a drizzle of vinaigrette all work beautifully. And of course, warm fillings like meatballs or roasted vegetables make a sub especially satisfying.
