FAQs

The bouillabaisse sauce can vary depending on the recipe, but some common ingredients include fish stock, tomatoes, onions, leeks, fennel garlic, herbs and spices. You’ll also find some recipes that use white wine and orange peel.

Traditional Bouillabaisse is often left to simmer for days to allow the flavours to develop and come together. The recipe is often known for its rich and complex flavours, so taking the extra time to prepare the sauce allows the flavours to come to life.

Bouillabaisse is often served with dishes that complement the flavours of the dish. Traditionally, it’s served with toasted bread with rouille - a type of mayonnaise. Aside from tradition, you can’t go wrong with a loaf of bread to soak up all the leftover juices.
