FAQs

You can absolutely make hot honey without heating. Simply stir your chilli flakes straight into honey at room temperature and it’ll be ready to drizzle. That said, gently warming the honey can help the chilli infuse a little better, giving you a smoother blend of sweetness and heat, and making it even easier to pour over the warm feta rolls. Now you know how to make hot honey, you’ll be putting it on everything!

Feta is one of those ingredients that plays well with lots of flavours. It’s great alongside sweet touches like honey, watermelon or figs, and it’s right at home with savoury ingredients like olives, roasted capsicum, or grilled zucchini. Herbs such as oregano, mint, and dill bring out its brightness, while a bit of lemon zest cuts through its creaminess for a fresh, balanced bite.

Not a fan of hot honey? You can swap it for other ingredients that offer a similar sweet and spicy contrast. Sweet chilli sauce works well for a milder heat, while a drizzle of chilli-infused oil combined with a touch of honey can bring both spice and richness. For a slightly more savoury option, try a dash of sriracha or tabasco sauce for a bit of heat without the sweetness.
