FAQs

Traditionally, tacos contain meat like chicken, beef or pork, white onions, coriander, diced tomatoes, cheese and salsa. The shell can either be hard or soft, consisting of flour or corn tortilla. Tacos have evolved outside of the traditional recipe, with a range of ingredients like sour cream and hot sauce.

There are plenty of different types of tacos depending on the region and cuisine. A few popular types include Carne Asada that are filled with sliced steak, Shrimp Tacos (Camarones) with fresh salsa, and Tacos Al Pastor which are tacos filled with smoky pork and pineapple. There’s also Taco de Pollo with chicken or Taco de Carnitas with slow-cooked pork.

There isn’t a huge difference between soft tacos and tortillas. A tortilla is a soft flatbread made from corn flour and circular in shape. A soft taco shell is just one type of tortilla, as tortillas can be big or small, soft or hard. The choice between the two will depend on the recipe and taste preferences.
