Cheesy Hot Cross Bun Bake

Hot Cross Buns, cheese and crispy bacon is the only way to celebrate Easter this year! Indulge in our mouth-watering Cheesy Hot Cross Bun Bake.



6 Bakers Delight Traditional Hot Cross Buns, halved
3 bacon rashers, sliced
1/2 brown onion, finely sliced
1 ½ cup tasty cheese, shredded
4 eggs
1/2 cup cream
3/4 cup of milk
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
4 pieces pancetta
1 cup sour cream
2 spring onions, finely sliced


    1. Step 1

      Pre-heat oven to 180°C

    2. Step 2

      Place hot cross bun bases into a 20x30cm baking tray. Layer with bacon, sliced onion and shredded tasty cheese. Top with hot cross bun lids

    3. Step 3

      Place the eggs, cream, milk, salt and pepper into a medium bowl and whisk. Pour into tray, around hot cross buns

    4. Step 4

      Cook in oven for 35-40 min or until golden brown

    5. Step 5

      In the meantime, place medium-sized non-stick frypan over medium heat. Cook pancetta for 5-6 minutes or until crispy

    6. Step 6

      Top warm bake with sour cream, pancetta and spring onion slices. Serve immediately
