Roughly chop the chocolate and add to a saucepan on medium heat with the maple syrup and milk. Whisk till the chocolate is fully melted and thickened (approx 3 minutes)

Whip the cream using a hand held or stand mixer

Top the thick hot chocolate with 1-2 heaped tbsp of whipped cream

To make your hot chocolate thicker, try adding thickened or double cream to the mixture for an extra smooth, creamy consistency. You can also add a little cornflour to a tablespoon of milk to make a paste, whisking this into your hot chocolate mixture on the stove until it thickens.
