Pink Bun Campaign Results Defy All Odds

Pink Bun Campaign Results Defy All Odds
This year’s annual Pink Bun campaign was unlike any other and thanks to the generosity of our hard-working franchisees, staff and communities, we have been able to raise over $1.3 million for Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA)! Funds raised throughout the Pink Bun campaign enable BCNA’s talented team to continue providing valuable information and assistance free of charge to Australians who have been affected by breast cancer. CEO of BCNA, Kirsten Pilatti, was blown away with the amount of support received during the campaign. “We would not be able to provide the level of support we do, free of charge, without the support of Bakers Delight Franchisees across the country and their teams,” said Kirsten. “As the local bakery, Bakers Delight are in a unique position to form strong connections with their communities and when these communities come together it’s amazing to see the difference they can make.” The campaign featured imagery unlike anything we had ever done before, using the inspiring images of 10 very brave survivors, aimed at promoting strength and positivity well and truly getting Australia talking. There would not have been one household in Australia that wasn’t aware of Bakers Delight and BCNA’s 15th annual Pink Bun campaign, after news outlets across Australia and the world reported on Facebook’s controversial decision to ban our campaign. The ban only motivated Franchisees and team members to work even harder to raise funds for the cause. Bakers Delight Joint CEO, Elise Gillespie said the result was typical of our Franchisees commitment and ability to work with their communities to give back. “Every year a sea of pink ladies takes over our bakeries and Franchisees and team members once again dedicate their time and money to the cause. Raising $1.3 million is an amazing achievement that everyone in the network should be proud of, ” she said. “Bakers Delight and BCNA have been breast friends for almost 20 years and we are so grateful when our Franchisees embrace this partnership and dedicate their time to raise funds for something that touches so many Australians.” Don’t forgot you can continue to support BCNA all year round by purchasing a Breast Friend or Enviro tote bag at your local Bakers Delight, with 50c from every purchase going directly to BCNA.
