Last year, we were thrilled to see 250 talented bakers and apprentices showcase their incredible skills and creativity. This year, we’re aiming even higher—and we want YOU to be a part of it!
Whether you’re a seasoned baker or a passionate apprentice, this is your chance to shine. Join us for a fun-filled competition where you can showcase your talent and maybe even take home the grand prize!
Our winners in each region will come to Melbourne for a study tour and special activities. The National Baker and Apprentice winners will receive a $1,000 cash prize, and their franchise will take home one tonne of flour.
The competition is open to any qualified baker or apprentice who is currently employed at a Bakers Delight bakery
This is an individual competition
It is not open to franchisees, franchisee partners, or baker’s assistants
Contestants must be 18 years or older by October 1, 2025

Criteria
Refer to the scoresheet on the portal. Products need to be dropped off at a specified location to be judged on the same day. Each region’s judging location can be found on the portal, the webpage, and will be announced in Crumbs.
Each contestant will complete a short online quiz featuring questions about baking.
White Vienna

Your franchisee will attend the POD meeting and can bring your bread on your behalf. Alternatively, you may drop it off yourself. Location and times will be provided on the portal, the webpage, and in Crumbs.
Arrive in Melbourne for celebratory drinks, dinner, and activities with the Product team.
The study tour kicks off with a visit to the Mauri Flour Mills, followed by an interactive baking session with Luke, Sarah, Matt, and Gerald. Learn the science of baking, how new products are developed, and get the chance to create and present a product idea you think would work in the Bakers Delight range.
The day concludes with a dinner alongside Leslie, Roger, Elise, Dave, and the Operations Executive team, where the national winners will be announced. Winners receive a $1,000 cash prize, and their franchisee receives one tonne of flour.
Winners will participate in a scheduling workshop at our Support Office with Product and Training specialists before returning home.
Note: The prize includes all flights, accommodation, meals, and transfers while in Melbourne.
