Staycation

1. Waffle-y Delicious

Too many recipes tend to waffle on – combine these, add that, leave that to simmer. Keep your staycation brekky easy but so deliciously good with these Apple & Cinnamon Hot Cross Bun Waffles! Best served with a splash of syrup, some butter and the peace of mind that you have no flour to clean up later.

2. Paint the Town (at home)

Chances are you have everything you need in your pantry to make rice-dyed Easter eggs. Dyeing eggs with rice is as easy as dropping food colouring on plain rice and giving it a shake. Mix colours for an impressive speckled Easter egg pattern!

3. The Smore, the better

No campfire required! Make these fun s’mores at home with just a few slices of bread, a swipe of Nutella and some mini marshmallows – pop in the oven and enjoy over the Easter break!

Camping

1. An Egg-cellent Tree

Easter eggs aren’t just for hiding! Decorate your campsite with a festive Easter egg tree the kids will love! Simply fill a small bucket with pebbles to weigh it down, then collect some branches you find on the ground to give them new life. Add your colourful egg ornaments to the branches (available at discount and homeware stores) or the kids’ Easter crafts to make your tree the camp centrepiece!

2. A Sizzling Good Time

Bacon in Hot Cross Buns? Who would’ve thought!? Luckily we did! Try our Hot Cross Bun bacon sandwich for an easy campsite snack or breakfast. Perfectly sweet, salty and super easy!

3. Travelling Delight

Travel-friendly and perfect to share with the family, our Twisted Delights are delicious and convenient for lunch or a snack in the car in between games of eye spy. Try our Cheese & Bacon, Spinach & Feta or even Pesto, Sun-dried Tomato & Capsicum. For a sweet fix? Choc Chip Hot Cross Buns, of course. It’s Easter time!

Big Family Do

1. Get Crafty

Keep the kids happy and entertained with the ultimate arts and crafts station at this year’s Easter celebrations. Set the table up with coloured paper, ribbons, pencils, crayons and some cotton balls for the littlies to make their very own Easter bunnies.

2. Egg-travagant Hunt

If you’re still finding chocolate eggs in October, it’s time to change up the traditional Easter egg hunt! Here are some of our favourites:

  • Easter Bunny meets Willy Wonka – use plastic eggs in the hunt, but fill one with a golden ticket and let the winner trade it in for a special prize
  • Have the kids search for the eggs in a specific order or for a pattern. Once they nail it, they can collect the ‘big’ prize
  • Print some fun directions or instructions to hide in each plastic egg you hide, like ‘hop like a bunny’ or ‘do a somersault’ – this one will get everyone up and moving on Easter Sunday!

3. Layer Me Up

Finally a layer cake that’ll impress without the stress! Forget the fiddly steps of your typical sponge and give this Choc Hot Cross Bun layer cake a go. It’s beautifully decadent and full of raspberry laced cream. You won’t regret a single bite!

Kid-Free

1. Choc-Tails

Easter eggs aren’t just for scoffing! We think they make the perfect vessel for an indulgent, Easter-inspired choc-tail. A splash of Baileys in a hollow chocolate egg is the perfect boozy dessert for all chocoholics and big kids.
