BCNA partnership

page-ourcomm-bcna2Since 1999 Bakers Delight has raised more than $6.5 million for Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA), directly supporting thousands of Australian women and their families through their breast cancer journey.

Money raised helps fund BCNA’s work to support women diagnosed with breast cancer, and their families. More than 15,000 Australian women are expected to be diagnosed with breast cancer in 2013.

Each year Bakers Delight bakeries across Australia join forces with breast cancer survivors and conduct a range of fundraising activities for Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA) in their effort to support women diagnosed with breast cancer.

During the Pink Bun fundraiser in all Australian bakeries, 100% of every Pink bun sold goes to BCNA.

Money raised helps BCNA distribute the My Journey Kit – a comprehensive information kit distributed free of charge to women newly diagnosed with breast cancer.

Please visit the BCNA website for more information: www.bcna.org.au

Below is a quote from Maxine Morand, CEO of Breast Cancer Network Australia (pictured above)

“Our partnership began because Roger and Lesley Gillespie at Bakers Delight heard about our vision, believed in it and wanted to help in a very real way.

We do not know of any other company that contributes 100% of funds raised through sales of a specific product in their stores going straight to supporting the work of a charity.

Our partnership is successful because every level of Bakers Delight is involved and makes a significant contribution.  From Bakers Delight costumers to the franchisee and their staff right up to head office, the generosity of everyone involved really is amazing.

A great partnership is based on trust, shared goals and deep long term commitment and our partnership epitomizes all those elements.

Without Bakers Delight we simply could not offer support to the 15,000 women who will be diagnosed this year and the 200,000 women living with the impact of their breast cancer.

It is hard to believe, but after 13 years our partnership has never looked stronger."
